Stewardship Sabbath Celebrated in Aizawl, India
Stewardship Sabbath was celebrated on December 1, 2018 in various places of the Southern Asia Division (SUD) territory. It had a unique flavor in Aizawl, Mizoram State, India.
Church members gathered in various churches in the Mizo Conference on Friday evening, November 30, 2018, to hear messages from the division, conference, and General Conference Stewardship leaders who were present for the occasion. The Sabbath morning service was held at the Aizawl Seventh-day Adventist Thang (Hill) Church. Pastor Zorhuaia Renthlei, stewardship Ministries director of SUD, taught a Sabbath School class demonstrating the importance of regular Bible studies to nurture members in faithfulness. The sermon, delivered by Aniel Barbe, associate director of GC Stewardship Ministries, focused on partnering with God with our blessings (tithe and offerings). The worship service included special music from various choirs and the collection of tithe and offerings. In the afternoon, Pastor Liana Fanai, the Mizo Conference Stewardship director, led out in an Adventist Youth (AY) meeting. Young people from throughout the city packed the church to celebrate their God-given talents and were reminded of God’s design for their lives: created and redeemed for greatness. It was a model of partnership between Stewardship Ministries and other church ministries, especially AY.
