Originally from Rwanda, Pastor Edison Nsengiyumva was born to a pastoral family and grew up with a sincere desire to also serve as a Seventh-day Adventist like his father and grandfather. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in the year 2001. Pastor Nsengiyumva completed a Bachelor’s degree in Theology at the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) and later earned a Master’s degree in Religion from Spicer Memorial College (Andrew University, 2012).

He began his career in 1992 as a Bible teacher and chaplain at Gitwe Adventist College and APACE Secondary School. Pastor Edison Nsengiyumva served as East Central Rwanda Field department director for half of his ministry. He worked as Stewardship Ministries Director and Evangelism Coordinator (2001-2005), as Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director and Evangelism Coordinator (2006-2010), and then as Evangelism and Global Mission Coordinator from 2012-2015. After serving 14 years as a departmental director in East Central Rwanda Field, he went to North Rwanda Field in December 2015 to serve as Executive Secretary. He remained in that position for six years. Before his election as the East Central Africa Division Stewardship Ministries and Trust Services Director, he served at Rwanda Union Mission as Evangelism, Adventist Muslim Relation, Adventist Mission, Revival and Reformation Coordinator.

Pastor Edison is married to Eliane Nyiransabimana, and the couple is blessed with three children and a granddaughter.
