Stewardship Idea Soup

SAD STEWARDSHIP DISTRICT TEAM

One of the strategies idealized by the South American Division (SAD) is the formation of the Stewardship District Teams (SDT). During the year, each district pastor chooses a SDT of four to five lay members, and bring them to the weekend SDT training conducted by the conference for all SDTs and pastors. Besides spiritual motivation, education in Stewardship and resources, they will also receive a uniform (usually a polo shirt). During the training, each district pastor will meet with his respective team to schedule a Sabbath for every church of their district, in which they will work together, ending the program with a commitment call to put God First, using the “Promise” cards. “In the afternoon they may hold a Faithfulness Conference, conduct seminars or do a ‘Questions and Answers’ session about tithes and ‘Promise,’” says Herbert Boger, SAD Stewardship Ministries Director. He also adds that the SDT choose only one family of each church, every year, to visit regularly, helping them to grow spiritually, using the eight points included in the commitment cards. They feel that the “member to member” approach while teaching Stewardship, may bring the educational initiative closer to the audience.
