STEWARDSHIP LEADERSHIP VISITATION—SID

On April 14, 2024, Mundia Liywalii, Stewardship Ministries Director of Southern Africa -Indian Ocean Division (SiD), hosted a Stewardship Leadership Visitation (SLV) at the division. He was visited by Marcos Faiock Bomfim, GC Stewardship Ministries Director.

Highlights:

Entrepreneurship: the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) aims to empower its members for entrepreneurship. Their meetings, which provide education for self-reliance, frequently attract attendees from other denominations. These non-SDA attendees are encouraged to tithe in their respective churches, some of which do not teach about tithing.

Giving in Kind: the SID also promotes giving in kind. In one union, over 500 herds of cattle have been given as tithe and offerings. Recently, they held a Giving in Kind Benchmarking event for the entire division (May 26-30, 2024), with over 120 delegates in attendance.

Adoption of the ACMS: Various SID unions are adopting the Adventist Church Management System (ACMS) to enhance transparency and reliability in the giving system. After implementing this system, some have reported a significant growth in tithe and offerings income.
