Firstfruits Celebration—Lake Titicaca, Peru (SAD)
One of the most faithful regions in DSA territory is the Lake Titicaca Mission. Today, I had the privilege of attending the festival of firstfruits, where church members of 42 districts bring the first fruits of crops and animals. This was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in Stewardship. They had a two-year drought and a major social upheaval at the beginning of the year, yet the number of tithe payers grew this year, and this field already has a 4% growth compared to last year’s income. Many missionaries and pioneers (like Fernando and Hanna Stahl) passed through here, and it is clear that the spirit of sacrifice and love for the pioneers’ cause is still alive here. God be praised.
