NSD—Korea: Salary Increased Sixfold

In Malachi 3:10, God said, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this . . . if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing” (NKJV).

Pastor Bold Batsukh, the first ordained Adventist minister from Mongolia, lost his father at the age of 16 and had to face life’s challenges alone at a young age. His first job was at an international school. His first salary, US$16 a month, was not enough to support his family or even to cover pocket expenses. But he was determined to give $1.60 as the tithe. He thought that amount was too little, however, so he gave $2.00 a month!

Three months after he began work, the principal of the school called him to his office and said, “I’ve been watching you work for three months now. I will promote you to the position of manager and raise your salary to $97.00 a month.” In 1994 in Mongolia, $97.00 was a large sum of money. It was enough for him to finish college while still supporting his family.

God kept His promise.
